My tumble dryer
OK, so now I've discovered this site I keep coming back to ask more mundane questions about various household problems ... but you guys know everything!
I have had my tumbler for nearly a year now, and it's started making a weird humming noise after it's been on for a while. It still works - air is warm, tumble bit still going round and round, clothes get dry. If I turn the machine off for ten minutes or so the noise is gone when it starts again. Should I worry, or just turn the stereo up?

I'm not a lot of help!!
You may find a person in your local paper who does repairs for this sort of thing cheaper than the manufacturers who charge you the earth just to come over your doorstep.
This happened with mine too and mine was an easy fix. 1. take the lint trap out and remove the screws.
2. lift the top of the dryer up, it may be a bit hard to do.
3. look behind the front panel for 2 screws, 1 on each side toward the top and remove them.
4. lift the front of the dryer straight up and away from the dryer being careful to look out for the safety switch wire.
5. remove the belt by taking the tension off of it by the motor.
6. remove drum.
7. find the rollers and lubricate them.
put everything back together and remember to hook the safety switch back up.
