Virgin to double broadband speed???????

On January 13th, I received the email below, from Virgin.

/// TO SAY A BIG THANKS FOR BEING WITH US, I, RICHARD BRANSON, WILL BE MORE THAN DOUBLING YOUR BROADBAND SPEED ///

/// But the big news is that over the next 18 months we will be upgrading more than 4 million customers. This includes you. So, soon you'll be enjoying faster broadband speeds. ///

But on January 14th, I received this email, from Virgin.

/// Oops! That last email, 100Mb Broadband Annoucement, was sent in error. ///

/// Please ignore this, and rest assured current Virgin Media Cable Broadband customers will be receiving some good news about your broadband in the next 2 weeks. We apologise for any inconvenience caused ///

Does anyone know what is going off?

Slightly off subjecr: our local residents association banded together to get a refund and discount from Virgin for its rubbish broadband speed

I read reviews on virgin,which weren't great....Can't think why we seem to be in the dark ages with Broadband compared to some other countries. Whatever happened to satellite BBand?
