Watching that Whale having a dip in the Thames the Sky news reporter solemnly informed us it could be "up to 10 and a half metres long".Now I'm an old fuddy duddy so that means little to me,but I was told its over 30 feet.To save this confusion why don't we measure length in London buses, height in Nelsons columns, area in football pitches, and weight in elephants.Surely this will avoid confusion. What do you lot think?

Tell Sam Allardyce,he'll probably use them in midfield!
well, I am a very aged person and I know what 10 metres means. Metres are easy, much the same as yards. But if you ask me how many whales will fit on a football pitch, I find it hard to imagine.
So long, and thanks for all the fish.
