Albanian Exports Of Uk Cars, Anyone Have Access To Stolen Car Database.

Im currently in Albania working and have noticed a large amount of UK registered cars on the roads here. Would anyone have access to the insurance stolen cars database, as it may solve the mystery of some missing motors. I will add to the list as I see vehicles.

Met gold merc E200 EF53 HJK
Black 3 series BMW PO54 XKV
Blue merc E250 R105 HTW
Blue Audi A4 PE04 HMG

All these cars were seen in a 15 minute drive to my hotel from work, there must be dozens of them.

Brit police have absolutely no authority here, and most cars I have seen are being driven by Albanian men. Makes you wonder what will happen if Albania ever gets taken into the E U, apparently according to a local there are hundreds of stolen UK cars here. I would have thought it would be quite easy to find whether they are stolen by anybody in the insurance industry, or police.

I worked in Albania 2002/3 and found that it was very easy to buy a car. Insurance scams worked extremely well and many cars came in through Greece and Italy. Just let the right person know what type of car you wanted and it would be yours within the month.

I checked two on the DVLA website for tax.

They both come up unlicensed, and in the line for 'export marker' it says N.

I remember seeing on the Top Gear episode when they went to Albania most of the UK registered vehicles had the locks missing.

I work in shipping and took a booking once to load a Range Rover into a 20' container to go to Lagos. The booking was cancelled the day before loading and I joked that it was because the thief couldn't bypass the immobiliser.

May have been legitimate but I think not.

Looks like the Range Rovers had a coat of paint! It would appear that one of the most common UK reg cars is the Range Rover. Drove to Fier yesterday and saw three of them some still with cherished plates on.

Whoever pinched the Vectra and went to the expense of shipping it out there wants their head looking at. Most unreliable piece of excrement on the planet. TopGear need to use these instead of Marinas as targets for pianos. My Vectra is going this year now I've saved up to replace it with either a 5-series, E-class or V70 estate.
