how well do the sonic pest control plug-ins work? I'm looking to repel ants, spiders, mice and few other common pests.

i have three in the house and i can say truthfully they are a waste of money nothing beats the old mouse trap

I think you should determine the reason why you are being invaded by all these creatures and rectify the problem.

We have two. One that plugs into the mains and also acts as a dimmer light. The old is hand held which you point at stray animals in your garden.

Mains one:
Whether coincidence or not during its initial use small spiders in their hundreds appeared from nowhere. They did not deter mice though as we had one running through our bedrooms and making nests

Outdoor one:
Completely useless. The cats just sit and stare at you and take no notice. I tried aiming them quite close at wood pigeons in the garden. They must also be stone deaf.
