Recycle Bin Problems

Hi

Please help if you can. Why are things that I'm deleting not going into my recycle bin (they were just recently) and when I delete things such as sites off of my favourites it is not asking if I want to send them to recycle bin (which it used to). Also when I right click to delete something, the Windows 7 shield is on the left side of the delete and rename in the list.

Nothing is showing up in the recycle bin even though I've deleted lots of favourites yet I have it set up to ask if I want to send them to bin and not permanently delete things so that I can check in recycle bin before I do that.

Have Win 7 Premium Home and fed up as I really can't see how to sort this. Need easy instructions as I'm not a techy by any means. Thanks so much for any help you can give.

Yes I spell it Favorites because of that reason too. You're right methyl they are url files in IE, can you tell me how you save the Favorites file as well as having it on the menu bar please?

Someone elsewhere has kindly found the answer to the problem I have with things bypassing the recycle bin TG! Apparently someone picked it up in 2009 and it was exactly the same issue as I am having now. I can only assume they did a patch for it then because trying everything else didn't solve it. Perhaps they solved it at source but just recently the problem has returned and that's when I noticed it. I don't know what to do except contact MS and bring their attention to it. If you scroll well down the page of the link here which hopefully works, you will see a screen shot of exactly what I have been talking about, yet it doesn't happen when deleting things from the favorites bar as they ascertained too.

For those running Internet Explorer on Win 7 and your deleted items from the favorites bypass the recycle bin although you have options set not to, then look to see if you have the shield against the delete and rename items on the drop down list. Thanks for all your help here I appreciate it.
