I have just started wearing glasses again after 20 years without (had contacts). How long should it take before I get used to them being on my face, it's driving me nuts!! :D Thanks.

Fab - I only started wearing them about 5 years ago and believe me you never get used to them - wish I had the nerve to get my eyes lasered - having to wear glasses - I no longer read books - can't stand them across my face. Paid a lot of money for really light ones and they annoyed me too as they were like "tickly" like a feather on your face. Hate them. That's my answer to you. Why did you stop the contact lens.
I have been wearing glasses all the time for about 4 years now, it didn't take me long to get used to them at all. I recently tried varifocal contact lenses and they were awful. I could see stuff brilliantly at distance but anything closer than the end of my arm (including PC) was all blurry, they also are a pain in the arris to take out. :)

I hope you get used to your glasses soon fabsec.
Two or three days in my case.

Hi, thanks for the answers.

I gave up on contacts because had been wearing them nigh on 27 years, they were hard gas permeable ones (I can't wear soft lenses), so had to take them out at night/put them in in the morning. Got fed up and also one of them broke about 10 days ago, so decided to go back to glasses. Must admit they are a bit funkier than the NHS ones I had when I was little!! :D
