When you measure for curtains, do the sizes on the packet represent the size of each curtain or the size of the wndow?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I'd say you need twice the width of the window for a curtain to look good and not like you couldn't afford one to fit. So to use snook's example for a window which is 60" wide each curtain should measure at least that. If the fabric is not heavily patterned you could use two and half times the width. You should take into account the type of heading as well.
