I'm sure toothpaste was first - don't know the second, sorry.

Agree with Andy definately toothpaste and I think it was Gibbs SR!
I have a feeling that cigarettes were involved in one of the first adverts - you're never alone with a strand.

Nope, sorry it's def Gibbs SR Toothpaste...can't seem to post the link but if you google *1950's commercials* it throws up some info!
Yes it was SR Toothpaste  the first colour was bachelor Peas

The second ad (I think) was for Cadbury's drinking chocolate. (Straight after a toothpaste ad!)


The first colour ad was for Bird's Eye Garden Peas. (Did television viewers really think that garden peas were grey prior to November 1969?)
