Our car was bumped in a car park and the chap who did it admitted responsibility (in the end)The bumper, right wheel arch and wheel where all damaged.
Just got the car back and I am not happy with a few things regarding the repairs.
This was done through his insurance company (who at the moment are closed due to circumstances beyond their control) so mine don't want anything to do with it.
Anyone else had experience in what to do now?
There was just the driver of the pick up truck who dropped it off and scarpered!!
It was raining then too,it was only when the rain went off and OH was giving it a wash that he saw the bits he was not happy with.
Even I don't understand how the battery went nearly flat,it was only in the garage less than a week,it's been outside the house without going anywhere for longer than that.
If the other drivers insurance company don't want to know then that will be very useful vulcan42.
Bad day.....bad bloomin' year more like :(
Thanks (why do I keep typing thansk???)
Aya and OH
you should complain to the garage that repaired it and the insurance company involved, the garage relies on work from that insurance company and the last thing they want is to pee them off with a bad repair. If they are one of their recomended repairers it will also be logged as a complaint against them.
It also might be worth getting a second opinion from another bodyshop just to prove your case, we often repair vehicles that have had a poor repair from another garage.
Who is this insurance company that is currently closed due to circumstances beyond their control ?
we never get customers to sign to say they are happy and the insurance companies dont insist on it.
We get them to sign to say the vehicle has been completed and collected.
Its not uncommon for a battery to go flat in a bodyshop/garage if a battery fails while its being repaired its not really the garages fault, it was going to fail anyway.
Thank you all for some very useful and interesting information.OH is going to get in touch with the opposing insurance company tomorrow,so long as they are open.
He will also take some photos, all the problems are written down.Ideally he would like someone from the insurance to come and have a look, but knowing us it won't be that straight forward-nothing ever is.
