My sister and I were reminiscing and mentioned 'Everywhens' which were shoes we wore as children in the fifties. The rest of the company looked mystified. They were shoes/sandals designed to be worn in the summer on casual or more formal occasions. They were filled in at the front and had a strap with a button fastening. I googled the name and nothing came up. Please reassure us we're not the only ones who remember being fitted out with these at the start of the summer!
I don't remember everywhens but the shoes you describe sound like the ones we got from a charity called. Cinderella Club. They were always black and I remember being very embarrassed because everyone knew they were from a charity and we were called names.
oh leahbee, kids can be so cruel, I know we used to wonder about the children in our school who had free dinners cos they had no fathers, they were set apart, awful!!
