Can you help me with some ideas to occupy someone who's coming out of hospital, but who isn't allowed to do very much?

Its for a man who's time is usually spent outside either in the garden or going to sporting events. He's not computer literate either!

TV, reading, jigsaws, crosswords..... What else can i suggest?

Radio, music, audio-books, videos/DVDs, sudoku, writing, eating, drinking, sleep.
Get crafty ( no not you craft ) take up knitting, a lot of men do knit, painting, writing ?
good opportunity to become computer literate
My sort of surrogate grand father has just come out of hospital having had a major cardiac event and can't do very much for the next few weeks so my Dad has bought him tons of model kits to do and he's really enjoying them. He's also bought books about the models so he has a model of a Spitfire plane and a book then he can read explaining all about it's real construction and what it did in the war. He's really enjoying them.
What a brilliant idea.

Thanks all,

Audio books would be good to have in the background for a change from the TV/radio. I'll look some out.

Op to become computer literate would be excellent, but there's resistance there!

And I'll think about crafting and making easy light things, that's a possibility.

Thankfully the sun has come out at last. Hopefully he'll be able to sit outside to read for an hour or so in the middle of the day. It makes a huge difference.
