Delete response option

This may well have been suggested before: It would be very useful for the author of a response or question to have a "delete" option. This would allow removal/correction of responses which contained errors, and therefore not confuse people. Probably more useful for responses than questions - in the race to be the first to get the answer, errors in posting are more prevalent!

I agree with you Salty. I posted a Q in Jobs and Careers and the first response was abusive and uncalled for. Saying that, if we did have this function, I daresay we would still have a few narrow minded people who would delete a response simply because they did not agree with what that person has said - especially true in the News section where there are more than a few lively debates going on.

Can I take this opportunity to ask you guys to report the first response for me please?

My suggestion was that you could only delete postings you had made yourself. I'd be reluctant to allow deletions of postings made by others, even if against your own thread - after all, you can always report it and get AB Editor to do the delete.

Oh sorry, I misunderstood. Yeah this used to irritate me too as no soon had I pressed the submit button and I'd notice a spelling error LOL
