Road Fuel Testing Unit Hm Customs & Revenue Checking On Site, Is This Normal?

An HM Customs & Revenue vehicle has just pulled up outside a company opposite where I work, it has the words Road Fuel Testing Unit on side of vehicle.
I thought this sort of testing was done on side of road only and didn't think they
attended Company premises. Is this normal?

They can go to wherever they want to check the fuel Mustang, there are lots of companies running Red Derv to save costs. ( Illegal)

In the past they've tested both my and OH's vehicles - once at a Cattle Mart and once in the driveway of our house.

HM Customs & Revenue have more powers of entry than the police. They don't need any permits or search warrants to enter a property but they usually have a police presence in case of trouble.

Well I learn something new every day. I didn't know that. It appears they are looking for a van that was parked outside a place of work across the road from where I work. They have parked the HMC&R van around the corner and are walking about to locate the van that has now disappeared, they are asking various people questions I suppose to try locate it. Its all very exciting on the industrial estate today.

Red Derv is used by Farmers Mustang, the cost is far less than the same for Cars / HGVs, the only difference is the colour, the Petrolium Comp's Dye the derv, Blue for cars Red for Farming etc., the Red is cheaper with fuel duty.
