Finally plucked up courage to venture around the village on the scooter.
Been putting it off for more than a week as I felt I would look a right plonker.
However needs must - either scooter or starve - used last of bread for breakfast.
Was much better than I imagined and am now a convert!
Word of warning - don't buy too much shopping unless the scooter has a nice big basket or box to hold it all.
One or two folk passed the time of day wih me - can't happen as you whizz past in a car.
Cheers all.

well done jack, big step, but you are now free to roam again!
Jack, enjoy your new freedom. Don't forget to smile at us even though you are concentrating on driving. Only too happy to move out of your way if necessary, slightly more manoeuverable than you!
Freedom, good for you. We have two or three in our town, one uses his front basket for his two mini poodles, lots of people stop and pass the time of day with him and the dogs.
There's a bloke in our village, same age as you if not a bit older, and he goes to the pub on his. Every night.
Well done Jack! Now customize it...wing mirrors......badges....a huge horn. You'll be the centre of attention and make people happy...enjoy!

Evening all!
Thanks for all the encouragement.
Just thought Zacs - can I be done for being drunk in charge of a scooter!!!
Seriously I will go out much more now - have hardly left the house except to go visiting my wife- and I have become expert at putting things off 'until tomorrow'.
Bit windy on the scooter - missed windscreen and heater!
Time for a wee dram by way of celebration.
Goodnight all and thanks,
One of our scooter-men has a plastic covering over him and his scooter, I often feel a bit envious of him sitting comfortably while I'm battling on with the brolly and my shopping.
Slainte, Jack.......but....one of the mums at our school was taken in for being drunk in charge of a pram.....so be careful on that scooter! ;-) x
Well done jack. And yes, you can be done! Ha ha.
Gness, where do you live, the Irish equivalent of Chatsworth Estate? ;-)
Middle of England, Zacs...... :-) x
I thought this was about Lambrettas or suchlike. Was going to advise against battling rockers at Margate.
Lol svejk, keep up.
Good news Jacklee, lovely to hear you've been out and about. liberation!
