Help Please

sadly my brother passed away this morning,my S.I.L.has asked me to pick a hymn for his funeral in the catholic church,i am a lapsed catholic and cant really think of anything,can you suggest a few hymn's for me please

Sorry to hear about your brother kate. I had to choose one for my husband's funeral as his mum wanted one so chose Love Divine, All Loves Excelling. I liked the title and it was short!

Kate, I lost my lovely sister, my only sibling, four years ago, and always feel such a sense of loss again when I hear of others losing a much loved brother or sister. I hope you and he, and the rest of your family, enjoyed the lovely day you had together recently to celebrate a birthday.
I'm not catholic or religious Kate, so can't suggest any hymns. I am however very sorry for your loss, yours too shaney. x

ethandron,danny loved it that day,he was so happy all the family were together,albeit for the last time,but it is a lovely memory,he said he was going to start playing his guitar again and asked my son to buy him a new set of strings,alas it did'nt happen as he was rushed into hospital a few days later,but it is a lovely memory to remember.

my brother died at 4.55am this morning.his body was put on the ferry at 1pm,his body is in the funeral parlour,all arrangements are made for his funeral on monday morning at 11am.the priest has been up and all funeral arrangements have been put in place,this is too quick for me,i cant take it in.

Hi SK, I'm truly sorry to hear your sad news. I've been away from AB for a long time and during that period I too lost my brother. He was just 41. Not being a religious family, we didn't have any hymns so I'm afraid I don't have any suggestions. I would however like to offer sincere condolences on the loss of your precious sibling. xx

Somehow, sad as it is, we expect to lose our parents, but when a much loved sibling dies its a shock even if it's expected through illness, and I don't think many people truly understand the impact it can have. x
