Corsa C timing chain

I recently heard that there was a recall on the vauxhall corsa's timing chain on the 1.2 ecotec engine. can anyone tell me what it is for as i own one and my local dealer doesn't want to entertain me as its out of warranty

Why is a recall affected by warranty? Surely a recall is aimed at correcting a manufacturing fault and is funded by the manufacturer through the dealer network. If it was an identified safety problem, such as brake failure, I doubt that a manufacturer would have a cut off point and leave earlier cars with the problem.
