I'll never forget the first few time I played this song at work, my boss had heard it on Radio City and came in asking if we had it in and I found it amongst the new releases we used to get from the record companies each week, once i heard it i agreed with her it would be a hit.

He apparently lived what can be referred to as "a self-destructive lifestyle". In 1992 he had a successful come-back album with Pictures and Paintings before dying in 1995 of a blood clot in his lung. (Snitched from whet.net)

Saw him in person twice... once in Denver, Colorado and once in Jackson Hole, Wyoming... nice voice...

Yeah I admit I had to read his bio to remember what happened to him. He was huge in the UK for a year or so and sold an awful lot of albums and then he faded from the limelight. Memorable songs though.
