Finding Out Of Touch Friends

Did not know where to post this but as you are friendly, helpful people thought I would ask.
Is it possible only knowing someone's maiden name to find out their married name and current address?
A friend of mine has asked me about this but I would not know where to start.

Thanks boxtops. Should have said she used to work with this person. I thought as she does not know her married name that it would not be possible. Have already told her I don't think possible but just thought I'd ask here.

You can search her marriage to 1984 on the free births marriages and deaths site, then once you know her married name you will be more in control of what steps to take next.

I've just used that site to find a marriage that I know all details of yet twice it came up with no matches .

Not every birth, marriage or death is yet logged on it Prudie, but a good percentage are so it's always worth a check. My mother's birth is not registered, but her brother's is for example.

You can check for marriages between 1837 and 2006 on Ancestry, but you need to be a member.
If you want to post further details of the person I will have a look for you. If you don't want to post them on here I can give you my throw away email addy..........

Thanks craft, Have looked on the bmd site and the name my friend wanted is there so have left her to continue looking now she has the married name. Should find on electoral role now.It really is for a friend and not for me!
I looked for my own marriage on the bmd site and it's not there so she was lucky the one she wanted was.

Good luck. I tried to find an old school friend and dont know if she married or not, but couldnt find anything on FB, GR or ancestry. But then her name was Jane Smith, almost impossible !!!
