My grandson intends going into the r.a.f.
Some one told him they only let people sign on for 5 years now.
he hopes to go in as a p.t.i.

Would welcome a true answer to my question.

According to their website initial joining is for a period between six and twelve years.

My brother was an RAF PTI. he said part of the training required a parachute jump and some really good guys dropped out because they couldn't face it. Don't know if that's still a requirement nowadays.
