DT I lived in Truro in 78, it was quite small there then not many big shops, in fact only Tesco and Littlewoods, I expect it has changed now. We lived just down from the station in Bosvigo Road.
morning dave and freddy and neti - long time no see. my fault. i moved away from AB for a while as i thought it was getting unpleasant and i didn't want to be part of that. nice to see you all again.
I know exactly where you were, nettie, there's a school near there and the gardens. I'm up the hill and beyond Shortlanesend
Tesco's is still there and recently modernised much to my mother's disdain. Sainsbury and Aldi up above the station - the Old Council Offices shortly to become a hotel..... Waitrose due at some point going in on the Newquay Road with a whack of pseudo Georgian houses as the city looks to become a mini-Bath.
no not good of me just something you do for friends. both her and husband try to be as independant as possible but there are some things they cannot manage and all children have moved away. all children come down at least a couple of times a year (they are a close family) but the occassional bit of help is sometimes needed.
DT - does sound a lot bigger now, I used to work past the station (Highertown??) in a agricultural supply depot, milking machines etc, not very glamorous! I loved my little house, it was at the top and the only doublefronted one, it was 2 houses in the olden days, well a dairy and a bike shop also, would be 200 yrs old now.
