what if the poison is harmful to other creatures, it's a good idea in principle, but there seems to be too many ifs and buts.

To be fair em10, there aren't many creatures that spring to mind that might ingest rhino horn!
And if there were I'm sure they're in far greater numbers than the rhino.
I like the idea that some ignorant rich tw&ts will be poisoned when they take their rhino horn, but that's all that will happen. It won't deter poaching, or trading of rhino horn.
I sincerely hope it helps. Something needs to be done and this is better than nothing.
i wasn't thinking of any animal ingesting it, however all these animals roam free, some of the poison is bound to rub off on the ground, a tree, in a watering hole, so how does that help the rhino.
