Does any one know how to make cheep & Easy to make stew with vegtables and mince meat and stuff like that.................THANKS.............TROWTS123

Skirt is great for the stew as it has a nice bit of fat which adds to the thickening of the stew and should never be cut off.
It will melt into the stock, leaving the meat really tender. Supermarkets won't have this cut as they don't want you to do any cooking, but buy their ready made pap.
It doesn't have to be minced meat to have cheap meat. If you buy pieces of stewing lamp or oxtail, brown them first on the bone and then cook slowly in a casserole with vegetables. These are also low cost delicious meals and the goodness from the bones will seep into the meat juices. . Don't cut the fat off first as this makes the meat tender. If you cook the previous day and allow to cool, the fat will solidify on the surface and can easily be scraped off before reheating. I think these "peasant type" dishes are some of the most delicious types of comfort food you can get during the cold winter months and those individuals who live on pre-prepared processed foods don't know what they're missing !
