...but there's not many of those around anymore !! You don't say where abouts you are, Fubeyside, but you could try the yellow pages.
Where I'm originally from in South Wales, there are still a few coal merchants around, who'll deliver to your house - open sacks or pre-packaged.
You can also pick up sacks of coal in many garages in that area. (About the closest you get to that here in East London is a bag of charcoal !)
You'll also need to check if you are in a Smoke Control area (as defined under The Clean Air Act) - if so, you have to burn a smokeless fuel. Best Welsh anthracite is naturally 'smokeless', but the better quality steam coals, coke, or some of the processed ('patent') coals, such as Phurnacite or Coalite, can all also be used.
