Any cold sore cream with Acyclovir listed in the ingredients - get a cheap generic one from "Savers" rather than the branded version like Zovirax - it's the same stuff in the tube. Do not get it in your eyes though.
Then (as Boxy says) eat some fruit and/or take some vitamin and mineral supplements.
thanks everyone, ive just bought some blistex, and started taking multi vitamins again, so hopefully it wont be here for long lol horrible things.. zovorirax was so expensive so gave that one a miss
Our son suffers from cold sores occasionally and finds the light zapper called Virulite brilliant. I'm sure Boots will have an equivalent. If you zap the cold sore at first tingle it often doesn't even develop and if it does it's development is curtailed.
Apply a cream containing the ingredient as soon as you feel the tingle.
If left, and the sore appears. Continue with the cream. But I have found rubbing cheap perfume/aftershave at intervals into it dries it up quicker. It can sting a bit but helps.
The sapper apparently stops a sore appearing in the same point again but never cures you of developing more in different locations. Its the nerve ending.
