I am applying for a job for my local council. On the application form I have to somehow show I understand "in a way appropriate to the job, how the principles of equality and diversity need to be applied within the Council".

Can any one help me put this in the form with a good reason ? Many thanks in advance

Only just come across this and have to respond to joko (there's a misnomer!). OK, say *ALFIE* has help with his/her application form and is called for interview. I think he/she may just be found out at this point. From *ALFIE*'s responses here I think he/she is more intelligent than that. Good luck *ALFIE*.

whatever consie.

i hope you are right though. I am sure alfie is intelligent enough. I made a suggestion that he do a bit of swotting up in order to seem knowledgable if he is questioned, and that in the job it is important that he know this stuff, so why not just learn it - and got abuse from roger.

I think I made a valid point.

I know so many people who have got jobs by faking and having others do it for them - we hear stories about doctors, nurses, teachers, even a film with leo dicaprio, about people who bluff their way into jobs and in the end they come unstuck (or kill someone) as they are just not up to it.

I wasn't trying to say alfie is not able to do the job, but why not just read a bit about the subject and compose an answer instead of taking the easy way and getting someone else to do it for you?

help, yes, do it for you, no - simple.

Alfie, Have you looked at their website? I'm sure the information is there.

Joko - I got your point on here a few messeges ago, so i'll take it from here, thank you.

Hi,

I would suggest that the answer would include, how to make all aspects of council services available to everyone who works for the council and who uses the council's services regardless of, age, sex, sexuality, religion, ability/disability etc., etc, and how jobs, job duties and workplaces can be adapted.

Sorry if this is a bit of a dull answer.
