Inquisitor 1279 "2 Possible Sets Of Instructions"

I have the question & the 2 responses & the 22 cells; I presume the source of the lines continues with "2 possible sets of instructions" & I can see how shading in 2 colours might work; but I have no idea either from Google or asking people down the pub what the source of the lines is.

Any tips as to where I should look?

Thanks

Think as the "security" isn't actually secure according to the response, this implies an instruction that will give you an insecure type of binding, try Wikipedia.

Thanks - I transposed the completed grid into Excel & now think I can see the "instructions" after swapping over 2 answers that could fit in 2 grid settings - just have to work out how the shading works to make the "insecure" rather than the "secure" version of the binding.
Hi

Think row 11 helps with this although there's no allusion to this in the preamble.
Gregsdad. Did you do the R or the G - neither are particularly safe but there are 2 ways to draw the G so I am leaning towards the R
But row 11 can be read in two ways - the 7th and 12th cells are interchangeable
- and also there is (I think) the question of mirror symmetry
Hi x_word_fan

I just went by the response to the question i.e. the binding isn't secure so i went for the G. You're right about cells 7 and 12 of row 11 of course but given the nature of the responseIi went for R....L rather than L.....R. But that's just my logic, others may have a different take ?

I did as Gregsdad did - though I think the preamble does allude to row 11 (my original Q about "2 possible instructions") - & R...L leads to the less secure option (G rather than R).

That leaves 2 shading options - starting with the upper RH side or the lower - upper made most sense to me since a) the response reads forwards rather than backwards & b) at least 3 of the resolved clashes leave real words in the grid (presumably all 4, do - I have a copy of Chambers on order which should reveal if this is the case).
Thanks Shikasta, you're right about the instructions. Starting top RH I get, across, three real words and one ex-govt. department !
Does anyone else find the choice of wording in the preamble strange ? Following the instructions 'for real' resolves the clashes as I (not A), R, N (not L), E
Hmm.. Did wonder what was meant by 'for real'. Could it mean the four letters of 'real' ? But that doesn't seem to give me the G binding....but I was never a boy-scout so who knows ?
I also noticed the REAL but assumed it meant in a practical sense, so I tried it using my coloured speaker leads! This at least helped me with the line drawing bit and my coloured shading. Given the response thread I agree with the G solution in Row 11. A brilliant puzzle! Now I'm off to sort out my tangled cables!
