I'd be very surprised if he went back. He's always on the look out for another challenge. I've said for some time that I believe he will be Man Utd's next manager so I wonder if this may influence Sir Alex's decision.
When they clinched the title his interview on the Beeb seemed odd. Almost a goodbye.

I really don't want Jose to take over from Sir Alex - we got rid of Becks and the pantomime that follows him, and Jose is such an attention seeker.
That plus his negative style of play rules him out of replacing him at Man Utd for me

Well I would love Roy Keane as he was one of my fave players but I don't really think he's that good a manager
There is talk of Ole or even Gary Neville - but I read somewhere that Sir Alex regularly meets Pepe for lunch!

Which would suggest they do really! Fergie and Mourinho couldn't stand each other when he was at Porto and didn't even shake hands. Now they are best buds. If not Mourinho then maybe Moyes would be a good fit..
