You can do it the long hand way if you want too. there's 2.54CM in an Inch and 12 inches in a foot so

31feet*12inches=372inches
372inches+4inches=376inches
376inches*2.54CM=955.04CM

and divide by 10 to get meters
955.04CM\10=95.504meters

and you get :
31 feet 4 inches = 9.5504 metres

There are 2.54 mm to an inch not 2.54 CM so the answer should be 9.5504 M.

it was the divide by 10 I got wrong, it should have been divided by 100
