Don't you just hate that ominous noise that says you have just stepped on a snail ? I felt so guilty too, poor wee thing !

flump, yes they still crunch with bare feet and it hurts! I pick up snails and put them on a flat rock near a blackbirds nest in the garden

when my grand children were little we played a game of who could collect the most snails then nana would take them (snails) to waste ground and deposit them there.
