DVD will not play
2 Answers
My dvd player having expired, I bought a new one (ASDA, Pacific, 30). Now just one DVD - Pollyanna, Carlton version with Amanda Burton - will not play. It loads up and comes to the title page. The image is slightly elongated and the edges are off the screen. The menu options are visible, but at this point there is no response from either handset or controls on the player. This is the only DVD in my collection which won't play. Any ideas ? Thanks.

I'd suggest you try the disk on someone else's player. If it works there, then the odds are you have a duff player, or one that is simply incompatible with the disk. Take the player back to ASDA and hope the replacement is okay.
If the disk doesn't work elsewhere (and despite being reasonably tough things, one bad scratch can render them next to useless) then you need a new disk...
