Jab Side Effects
5 Answers
I had a routine tetanus/polio jab in my left arm last Wednesday. I came home from the docs and had a kip straight away (I work nights, I pushed myself to stay awake!). When I woke, I felt nauseus, could not move my arm and my lips were numb, and I was shivering quite badly. OH was worried and managed to get the last doctors appointment of the day for me.. Doc wasn't concerned so long as my breathing was normal. For the next three days, my lips were tingly rather than numb, but I physically couldn't move my arm for four days. I can use my arm now, but even after a week it's still very tender and hurts when I elevate or rest on it.
Is this normal? How long until my arm regains normality? I've taken paracetamol but that doesn't seem to help

Seems a long time for a reaction to tetanus /polio jab, but it is possible. As long as there is no swelling at the site of injection and you feel that you haven't got a temperature, then no big deal....... soldier on and monitor the situation.
