We witness many shows of false emotions and crocodile tears from celebrities and some time royals, but these recently shown by a Royal who does not often receive much media attention, are truly from the heart.

Apart from the scenes where she wipes away a few tears, this is the photograph that did it for me, truly genuine feelings.

My maternal grandfather was in the Merchant Navy on served on the Atlantic Convoys.
My paternal grandfather was a Bevin Boy and worked in the mines.
Both served to keep the country going during the war. And it is nice to think that they, now, both enjoy (although long since dead) equal recognition for the services they provided.

Interesting.
Do we assume that our royal family do not possess the same emotions as the rest of us - or is it simply that protocol demands a level of decorum and inhibition that makes them look cold and aloof?
I have no doubt that celebrities and royals alike are exactly the same mix of feeling and unfeeling individuals as the rest of the population - it really is not significant that one member of the royal family shows some emotion - and it is wrong to assume that lack of such gestures equate with a comensurate absence of feeling.

i was just thinking the same andy - they are still people regardless of their job or fame or what family they were born into.
i agree that there are plenty who do these events and couldn't care less - but that would be the case with any person - some care some don't - being a celebrity is irrelevant.
you would have to have a heart of stone to not care at all.
