I don't, but they don't sound like they're going to be overly efficient. How much stain extraction can a powder achieve ?
What have you been doing on the carpet;-)
The shake and vac stuff is only to make your carpets smell nice.

saw an add for the new "vanish powder" supposed to be one of the best powder types but its got rubbish reviews on amazon
its just the usual soiling from winter ,wanting a easy spring clean, looks like lugging the rug doctor then
I do this to get rid of smells on the carpet. Dust over some Bicarbonate of Soda, leave over night and hoover up in the morning.
I guess you could use a carpet cleaner on the soiled parts first. Vanish do a spray as well as a powder which works well too.
Have used the vanish powder on a 6' X 4' mat. Although the "grubiness" was fairly evenly spread, the powder only cleaned in patches. I certainly won't be buying again.
the vanish foam spray isn't bad, it doesn't take out stains but works on general grub in my experience.
Carrust...you really wanted to ask 'did they film it' ;-)
Some people have a long memory ummm;-)

The trouble with powders is that they clog up your vacuum, leave a really strong cheap smell and are difficult to get out completely so they end up making the carpets smell worse than they did before. I use a very good spot cleaner called Simple Green, see http://www.simplegreen.com/products_carpet.php
which you can buy in concentrate and lasts for ages so works out really cheap. It really does work, even red wine and dog accidents. For larger areas I bought the cheapest BexBissel electric carpet cleaner, which is very light weight and works well on my light coloured carpets - it's also good for sucking up spills like when we had a burst pipe - but I wish I'd spent that bit extra and got the carpet and upholstery cleaner as you can't do stairs with my model.
