Hi, i am traveling in may to sydney for 2 weeks the to hong kong for 1 week. I am meeting friends that live in sydney then traveling alone to hong kong.
can anyone reccomend any cheap and cheerful hostels/hotels (close to the centre/clean/safe) in either city?
Any suggestions fr things to do when im there?things that must not be missed? (im thinking of giving surfing and sky diving a go)
Can anyone suggest what the weather may be like in late may/june in sydney & hong kong?
Is there anything i need to know before i leave?
I am a bit nervous about traveling alone, espesialy when ill be in hong kong alone, so any tips or suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks x

In HK, buy yourself a weeks undergroup tube ticket as HK is too crazy to try it in taxi's as the traffic is horrendous. Use your ticket to hop on for a short trip to Sheung Shui. In the Mall there, is a fantastic water ballet fountain that is breathtaking. The nearby market is fascinating with amazing species of seafood etc. Go to Lantau Island to see the biggest Buhda's in the world. (they say the land has been filled in and its not an island anymore). Tube it to HK Island and go up on scenic rail. Do one of the boat trips round Aberdeen Harbour. Buy a HK 'T' shirt which says, I went to HK and I survived ??? General tips are - watch out for pickpockets. They are so clever, they can slice open the sean in you bag without you having a clue. Never pay more than half of what traders ask of you. HK is quite a safe place to be in, but when alone, it's nice to go on arranged trips, so that you have someone to talk to. See if there is a day trip into China as that is quite fascinating.
I luv HK.
