What a fantstic player. A true legend of the game. Football fans everywhere should be glad they were able to see him. His demeanor and approach the game are a first class example to all young professionals. On top of that he is now the record goal scorer for Chelsea. Along with Paul Scholes, I wonder if we will ever see players like this again? Thank you Frank Lampard. It's been an absolute pleasure to have seen you.

10Clarion....I agree with all you have said EXCEPT your description of a "fantastic player."

He was a first class professional but never "did it" on the international scene and THAT would have made him a "fantastic player."

A world class player. A true legend at Chelsea, yes. A true legend of the game, no.

Legendary status in the game should only go to those in the top bracket and when compared to his contemporaries zidane, messi, ronaldo, ronaldhino, Henry, giggs, iniesta, xavi etc he's close but not close enough.
