One of the most puzzling and intriguing parts of this situation is the 6 years old child of one of the women. We are led to believe that she is the child of the accused man . He apparently used to take her to the park and also to see his family. Told them she was his girl-friend's child. The women in the house were told not to tell the child their names in case she repeated them.
Now ,how on earth do you stop a six years old child from noticing what was going on in that house ? How would you stop her from answering simple questions? e.g. ''Where do you live ''?,'' Which school do you go to ''?
I know that it would be difficult to ''gag'' my six years old grandchild.

Because what she grew up in was normal, it would be some form of conditioning. Never leave her alone with the family etc, distract them with sweeties and toys etc.
a child grows up and is used to the life it lives, the poor child knew nothing else but that life of a captive.
Exactly conditioning and to her the environment would be normal.
who asks random kids in the park, "where do you live? which school do you go to?"
exactly sara, kids go ignored pretty much.

It's not exactly 'normal' to see your mother chained up, which is what he was supposed to do when he went out .
I agree. There is a lot about this story that just does not ring true.

I didn't mean people in the park would be asking questions .More like her grandma(although she didn't know at the time that she was her gran).
You're forcing what you think is normal on a situation that is far from normal.
what would the child know about "normal"?

and what are you suggesting?
by the way, DNA tests have proved that she is the child of the accused man

headwreck perhaps the women confirmed the two brothers had nothing to do with it. Too early to get the whole story yet.

Perhaps his mother, his 8 siblings (including those 2 brothers), his other children and his 5 grandchildren all knew what was going on too, or (more likely) they were all unaware of what was happening.
I suppose if he went to a supermarket he'd get away with it. Or bought a bit here and a bit there. It doesn't seem as if he fed them properly anyway. I read that one of the women lost a child because she was so malnourished. Well that and the good kicking he gave her just to make sure!
