Floor Screeding

Thinking of getting my conservatory floor screeded to make it nice and level. Would anyone know roughly how much i should expect to pay for 20m2 (5m x 4m)

Also ... what about finished height relative to the house?

It's in my conservatory mate...it's concrete that was laid pretty roughly and just need it skimmed and levelled so not much at all

If the finish is really uneven, then you might need a few bags.

Thanks builder. Is this easy to "lay" ? I was going to get someone in to do it but if it's just a matter of chucking it in a cement mixer, adding water, pouring out and then just trowling it a bit then i might have a go myself

Easy, Hammer. No mixer needed. You just whip it up in a bucket or large tub until it's in a gloopy consistency.
Then you tip some on the floor and spread it around with a trowel. It generally finds its own level.

Use a plastering trowel, or better still a flooring trowel, but they're more expensive.

Here's a cheapie plastering trowel (wouldn't like to skim with it though)...

One word of warning - if it's anything like one I used some years ago, make sure the container is clean. I mixed a second load without cleaning the bucket thoroughly and it set hard as I was stirring it. Hours of fun chipping it out of the bucket. Successful mixes were very effective however.

Thanks all. Im gonna give it a go, but not until ive replaced the garden fence, put decking in the garden, potted up my tomatoes, cucumbers and courgettes, re did my spindles etc etc etc. !!!!!
