Its just another term (the official term) for the authorisation given by the Probate Office to the person applying for probate, when approved.

Hey BM, no need to be so sarky - if you didn't want to answer you didn't have to you know :) This site is rather like a search engine for me, but you can get the answer without having to trawl through pages of dross or complicated stuff, which may or may not have something to do with what you are searching for. I find it hard to grasp what a question and answer site might be for if not to ask questions and get answers
