I think it's the herpes (chickenpox) virus that reactivates sometimes if the person is stressed/low.
I stand to be corrected. Sqad will know incubation period or you can google it perhaps.

I was signed off for two weeks when I had it so that I didn't pass on chickenpox.

Shingles............No you cannot catch shingles.

Incubation period about 2-3 weeks.

Bloody painful.....Acyclovar if started early and ibuprofen for the pain...600mgms.

...and when everything appears to be improving, the worst part CAN be the chronic pain you're left with, along the site of the blisters...can last for months and months.
