I Phone 5, Messaging

For some unknown reason I am unable to type anything in my message box. I am tapping in the box, and nothing. It was working perfectly ok earlier this morning.
Can anyone advise?

Hmmm, I have no experience with the iPhone so am stumped if that didn't work.

or do a hard reset by holding the top and the home button together until it switches off, then switch it back on and it should be okay.

Did a hard reset reboot whatever - now all working ok.
