Money Transfers from Abroad

I have been having a pension sent from Spain to my account here in the UK for months ,arriving regulary at the begin of each month.However,this month it has not arrived ..the sending bank in Spain assures me that it was sent out on the 1st July.After many phone calls and visits to my local bank here in the UK ,result is that the sending bank must put a trace on it.
Also my bank told me that the bank in Spain will be able to find out that it has not gone into my account....but how can they do this,my money may have gone into someone else`s account...could this be found out.What about the language barrier etc.etc...can someone pleased enlighten me aout this situation...desperate!!!!!
