Thanks for these, Kempie. I had actually found two of them myself, but none of them quite do what I want...with far too much information, pictures etc. The main Radio Times site seemed ideal, given that one can choose the channels one wants. However, again, the information is spread over far too large an area and it is impossible to highlight/copy/paste with a view to making it manageable. One would have to print off about ten pages per day, then cut them up and stick them together onto a sheet of A2 to get what I want!! It'd be easier just to plough through the TV magazines.
Thanks anyway, though.
you can download digiguide from digiguide.co.uk (or com etc)
theres a free trial for a month then 8.99 for a year
you choose your channels from a massive list - as many as you want - and then everytime you go on the net it searches for updates - usually up to a month in advance, and only takes a few minutes
the grid appears on your desk top on start up and can be viewed at anytime
you can get reminders and do searches, customise etc etc.
i wouldn't be without it!

sort of does what you say but only sort of.
Whatever happened to sitting down with the Radio Times and a red felt tip eh?
I also recommend digiguide - it's perfect for your needs, and if (like me) you are waiting for bizarre and obscure films to make an appearance, then it'll find them in the listings and alert you, even if they are buried at some ungodly hour on a channel you never watch.
And it's cheap, if you compare the 9 quid annual fee to the weekly cost of a tv magazine.
Let me just add a little more information. If you click here you will be linked to the Radio Times website. Once there, click on TV and you'll see exactly what I'm after. I have already included the extra few channels I'm interested in and added the site to my favourites.
The thing is, I' d like to be able to print this out - minus the graphics etc which clutter the page up - on a single sheet of 'landscape' A4.
As I am concerned only with the programmes between 6 pm and midnight, a single sheet ought to be enough. The problem is that - although I can readily highlight and print - I seem to be barred from highlighting plus copying and pasting. That's what would be necessary to compress the information into a smaller space.
Does anyone know how I can do that?
You can copy and paste just the text into word - i tried it and it comes out as it is on screen.
Sorry if you know this but...to highlight don't do the select all option, just get the bit you want - with a mouse just click and drag, but on a lap top you can double 'tap' and drag - but start just outside the edge of the bit you want - a blank white bit - otherwise you will just click a function. This should give you only the text.
if you accidentally get any coloured blocks just delete in word.
I know you can print directly from digiguide
Thanks for your efforts to help, anyway.
sounds like a right palaver! have you tried the windows wordpad? or notepad?
also, if you have to print the page directly from the net so including the blocks and header - set your printer to greyscale or black and white - at least you'll save on the usually more expensive coloured ink
have you tried saving the whole page to your computer, then log off - i think you can then view it offline - you may not get the net blocks etc
They hadn't fully sorted it out by the time they left, but promised that, today, all their fellow computer-buffs at work would be put onto solving it. This, of course, will set back the launch-date for Britain's next satellite...truly, if it happens...but what the hey!
I'm afraid it was the shortcomings of our computer-system that caused the difficulties, but thanks once more for your help.
