haven't seen it for years, and thats all i could think of as a daft plot thing - i thought of this question because i just watched contagion but can't be bothered wading through the ridiculous plot holes in this film!
Mostly the ones that annoy me are the horror/ thriller types when you find out at the end that the person was mad, so basically it's all made up. Great. There is one film I can think of that did that and it really worked, but if I put what film it was people will know the ending!!
And the usual slasher types that although there is a psycho headcase with a machete in the kitchen, the girl chooses to run upstairs as opposed to through a downstairs window and into a room with nowhere to hide, or escape and with no defence.
He just happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time - all the time!
What about Under Siege with Steven Seagal?
Virtually every part of the 'plot' is a convenient contrivance.
The cook a former Navy Seal? Thats handy!
Also any major disaster movie where the earthquake/ fire/ meteorite strike/ Godzilla/ alien invader just happens to turn up in New York or Los Angeles but never in somewhere like Scunthorpe or Tipton.

One of the old biddies could be an amateur weekend bomb-disposal enthusiast - whose shed is a military-surplus arsenal that would make the A-team weep - and knows how to blow big G to smithereens, using a bottle of milton fluid and old mrs. blodgingthwaites bloomers.
