Wonga ads on TV feature puppets of two old ladies and an old man. The man is called Earl. How many old white men have you encountered who are called Earl? I've never encountered any.

Freds? Dibnah, Davis, the snooker champion, Emney, the comedian, but most old Freds are dead now, the name having become less popular; it's like Albert and Horace in that respect. However, given a few decades, old people's homes will be full of Waynes !
