She was such a brilliant talent and came from Scotland, I think she had lived on a remote island or something ... anyway her parents were Italian and she was a tiny bit on the plump side but nothing more than puppy fat. She won Opportunity Knocks. Of course no doubt they put pressure on her to slim no doubt and the result was a lovely girl whose life was ruined . I still remember her singing 'Country Road' and 'Ma he's Making Eyes at Me'.

She came from Rothesay Isle of Bute in the Firth of Clyde, about half an hour sailing time from the Ayrshire coast. Still a popular holiday resort and definitley not a remote Island.
