Gran Canaria

hi just wondered how many of you have been or go to gran canaria? i first went in 2003 with the family didnt go again til 2009 with my teenage daughter and have been going every year since as a winter holiday generally march and november , i go without my hubby normally take one of my daughters but as they are both starting to dp their own things now was thinking about going by myself as when im there i feel safe to walk around by myself and for some reason dont feel this way about other places ive been, not sure why , think id be quite happy sunbathing in the day and if i dont wanna go out at night they got english tv, so would any of you go on holiday abroad by yourself ?

I haven't been alone but I nearly have and went on my own with just my 10 year old daughter to Ibiza. I'd certainly consider going alone if it was either that or not going at all and somewhere popular with Brits like the Med or Canaries would be an excellent choice if you weren't that confident IMO. Oh and I've been to Gran Canaria twice. Main downside for me is I love the beach and sea swimming/snorkelling which none of the Canaries are particularly nice for.
