Obviously this cretin must have had a police record for them to have his DNA on file, it is through this that the police were able to trace him and bring this piece of pond life to justice.

This has nothing to do with the loss of liberty, even "when we were fighting hard for liberty" as you put it, we still all had to carry ID.

We still have to be 'registered' at birth.

We still have to have a NI number

Also if one drives a car, wishes to travel to another country, be eligible to vote, we all need to go down on some form of a data base, and then are we not compelled to fill in a census form?
