Like a cherry pie sort of thing.

I can't remember the last time I baked ... well, anything, to be honest. I wonder if I should have a go?

That is MrAsks favourite. I'd have a go JJ except I dont have any cornflour icing sugar or cherries.

What's your favourite fruit?

it just looks a bit tricky.
raspberry.....love Pavlovas - also love tatin - apple please though for all those caramel bits and a Tahitian vanilla ice-cream to go with it.
Er, isn't that a variation of clafoutis?
You can always buy the pastry, otherwise it is fairly easy.....
All time favourite, raspberries.
yep - it's a clafoutis.
It's a bit of a faff making pastry for the tart then cake mix for the filling. They sell fresh Cherry almond Bakewells in M&S that are nice.

You see, this is all just confirming ... things like baking should be left to proper baking people, like say ... bakers?
Oh, I wasn't thinking of any wise cracks. Honest!
There once was a girl who kept being followed by bread and pastry chefs wearing cooks' hats.

She asked her girlfriend if she could tell her why the breadmakers were following her.

Her girlfriend told her: "You really need to do something about that yeast infection."

Holiday Fruitcake Recipe --------------------------- You'll need the following: 1 C water 1 C sugar 1 C brown sugar 4 large eggs lemon juice 1 tsp. baking soda 2 C dried fruit nuts 1 tsp. salt 1 FULL bottle of your favourite whisky Sample the whiskey to check for quality. Take a large bowl. Check the whisky again to be sure that it is of the highest quality. Pour one level cup and drink. Repeat. Turn on the electric mixer. Beat 1 C of butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add 1 tsp. sugar and beat again. Make sure the whiskyy is still okay. Cry another tup. Turn off the mixer. Break two legs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit. Mix on the turner. If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers, pry it loose with a drewscriver. Sample the whisky to check for tonsisticity. Next, sift 2 cups of salt. Or something. Who cares. Check the whiskey. Now sift the lemon juice and add one table. Spoon. Of sugar or something. Whatever you can find. Grease the oven. Turn the cake tin to 350 degrees. Don't forget to off the beat turner. Throw the bowl out the window. Check the whisky again. Go to bed. Who the heck likes fruitcake anyway?!
Now Jayne, there's nothing quite like your own home baked goodies. I for one will be trying that recipe (unless I can persuade Queenie to do it ...) Go on have a go .... Cherry almond tart delish!!
A quick, easy and delicious desert to make is crostata. Fruit of Your choice, pastry dough, bit of sugar, bit of butter and flavourings (optional).
