Not sure about a TV but my Sky+ used to switch off after so many hours if I hadn't used the Remote.
I went into the Settings and disabled this option and the problem was solved. Have a look at your TV's settings and see if this option is there.
Do you have the instruction book/enormous piece of paper?
Obviously I don't know what model you have but with mine there is an Eco Solution part of the Picture options, and that includes powering off if there is no signal. Maybe you have a similar group of settings amongst which is one that is simply a timer (if so just turn it off).
Sorry pressed 'submit' too soon, Josaphine look at this similar post link. Hope it helps you. :)
Not a good idea to publicise when your house is going to be unoccupied.
You might come home to find ABers having a party.
just to complicate matters, if it's connected to a recorder it could be that putting it on standby

Ok it is an le40d550, trying to be clever here, but failing miserably, I have been into eco solution all off, cant find manuel, and emanuel not helping, gen can I book you in for tomorrow night for a party, first night out in 12 months, hope you like cats and dogs, I just want to keep the tv on for the night, you need bloody rocket science to keep it on, it is connected to sky, I may have to teach the dog to press the controls tonight if I cant work it out, thanks
The manual says it's in in Eco Solutions under Auto Power Off, I assume you need to turn it off
I have a Samsung but it's the Sky settings that turn it off in this situation,(found in Sky-settings-auto standby)

Been into that fitz, I must be such a thicko, went into plug and play, then into eco solutions, all off, it must be something to do with sky turning it off, thanks for trying to help me though.
